As shown, the Trigonometric functions can be grouped 2 ways: by pairing, and by reciprocal functions. It is important to have a strong base in order to understand later operations, which is why this chart is very helpful at organizing the six functions.

Relationships Between Trig Functions
Today in class we were introduced to a new type of Math called Trigonometry. Trig is a type math that studies the relationships between the sides and angles of mainly right triangles. In order to begin our study of trigonometry, first we have to learn and memorize the relationships between the six Trig functions. They are: Sin, Cos, Tan, Cot, Sec, Csc. In class we made a flow chart summarizing this relationship, which is posted below.

As shown, the Trigonometric functions can be grouped 2 ways: by pairing, and by reciprocal functions. It is important to have a strong base in order to understand later operations, which is why this chart is very helpful at organizing the six functions.
